Most of the Ojibwas lived near the Great Lakes, others lived in different parts of Canada and United State. The Ojibwas that lived in Canada spread from Quebec to Eastern B.C. The rest lived in the U.S. which spread from west Michigan to Montana. The Ojibwas spread were largely spread out, in the territories it include, plains, woodland, lakes. The people who lived in different place use different technique for survival. They also ate different kind of food. Ojibwa that live near the lakes had fish as their main food, the fish were easy to get, also water were easy to get. Ojibwa that live in the woodlands have tons of woods for different uses including using the wood as a defense, building wigwams. Ojibwa that lived in the plains did not have things like wild rice or maple tree like the woodlands and lake people did. The mostly hunt or gather berries. Living in the woods made the life of Ojibwa easier. They can easily build their defense using wood, but water was one of the problem. They need to find a place that is close to the waters.
