Ojibwas gather and hunt for their food. Women did most of the gatherings. They would gather beans, corns,squash,berries. The berries include crane berries, blue berries, chokecherries, and rasp berries. They would also gather wild rice. Wild rice were usually dried and boiled. Meat is usually serve with the rice. Ojibwas that lived in the woodlands would collect sap from maple trees to make sugar and syrup. Sugar are often use to sweeten vegetables,fruit, and rice. Syrup were use to make sweet drinks.The men would hunt different animals as their food. The animals included fish, bird, bison and other small animals. They would also eat pemmican. Pemmican is a food similar to beef jerky, it is a mix of meat and different kinds of berries. Bison meat is usually use to make pemmican.
